About Me

Sruthi’s Art

As an artist I annually exhibit through local art fairs and events .My earliest recollection of drawing and colouring was that of a market scene in Dubai, showing an array of food vendors and local natives mingling as they shopped for fresh produce. This painting at the age of 8, earned me a second prize in an all school art competition.

Although I went on to pursue different pathways as a career, it wasn’t until I specialised in watercolours and gouache with the London Art College that I realised it was painting and illustrating I wished to build on. So, I continued my studies with the college, completing a children’s book illustration course with honours and a further diploma in digital illustration.

In 2016, I began teaching children to paint, it provided the opportunity to work on some amazing projects. I worked on projects over three years with the children for the David Shepherd Wildlife Competitions. In 2018, the children exhibited and presented their paintings at the Natural History Museum in London.

Completing a Masters in Art History provided a new avenue to expand my teaching, which has provided the opportunity to transition into Adult learning. Currently I work with the Buckinghamshire Council, providing classes in drawing and painting as well as Art History and participate annually in the local Art events.
