The world they see

Childhood adventures by the sea, exploring the shores for sea shells, discovering a polished fossil. A bucket and spade to build sandcastles, let’s add a moat around it, maybe add accessories to fortify it.

Running into the sea, sun shining strong on our back. Wadding our way into the water, no swimming skills to save us. Nothing other than the thrill of playing, being swept up high with the waves and momentarily disappearing to come up splattering and laughing.

The early morning walk by the shoreline, the stillness of the sea, walking towards the reflection of the morning sun, feeling silent stillness all around.

Sitting with my siblings upon the rocks, looking out for the rising sun. The light emerging on the horizon and then a tiny slit appearing, heralding the rising of a new day.

Our companion by our side, he has journeyed with us. Keeping a watchful eye for mother, knowing we are safe.

Life as simple and the world they see beautiful.
